About The Run-A-Ton Group
The Run-A-Ton Group, Inc. family of brands was founded by my father, Bob Wintz, in 1972 as a conventional baked goods company. In 1978 he pioneered the concept of bringing natural foods to Northeast supermarket consumers.
By the early ‘90’s we were thinking about how we could merge our passion for baked and natural foods to bring better-tasting options to the table. The unfortunate truth shared by one customer at the time was that “you could tell it was a natural bakery product if it tasted slightly better than the cardboard package it came in.” Believing that consumers shouldn’t have to sacrifice their taste standards for their ingredient standards, we launched Wholly Wholesome in 1996. A similar epiphany surfaced towards the start of the new millennium when allergy sensitive consumers started to find their collective voice seeking gluten free, allergy friendly, and vegan products that could satisfy their palates AND their dietary requirements.
Over the past two decades our commitment to create a family of brands that deliver great tasting treats for ingredient-conscious food lovers, has led to a growing line of natural and organic baked goods as well as allergy friendly products that can be found in stores throughout North America.
